This album began as sketches for a podcast commissioned by the Covenant House of New Orleans, an organization that was hosting a series of interviews to raise awareness for survivors of human trafficking. Gianola collaborated with longtime friend and a colleague composer Ashlae Blume performing on trumpet for the album in a series of back and forth remote recording sessions. The album was developed into seven original tracks with two remixes and three alternative takes (the last which were performed in studio together by Gianola and Blume. The album was produced and mixed by Gianola and masted by Kyle Eroche (Lantern Light Studios).
